As we age, the lens inside our eyes hardens and makes it difficult to read fine print. Patients who are older than forty years of age may elect to have monovision. This type of treatment reduces the need for glasses in these patients.

At The Eye Center we take great care in individualizing the treatment for each patient. In monovision one eye is corrected for distance and one eye is correcting for reading. Sounds strange! Actually not! Many patients find this type of vision correction to be an excellent compromise, decreasing the need for eyeglass use in their forties.
