Renata Raeder, O.D.

Dr. Raeder graduated from The Elms College where she received a bachelor degree in biology. She received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She interned at The Eye Institute of Philadelphia and Bethesda Naval Hospital.

Dr. Raeder works extensively with pre and post-operative refractive and laser surgery patient management. She also practices comprehensive family eye care, including contact lenses, and management of ophthalmic disease.

She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Virginia Optometric Association. She currently serves as Treasurer of the Northern Virginia Optometric Society Executive Board. She has completed licensing requirements and received certification to practice from the boards of optometry in the commonwealth of Virginia and the state of Maryland.

Russell Pearlman, O.D.

Dr. Pearlman graduated summa cum laude from Widener University with a baccalaureate degree in biology. He continued his education at the Pennsylvania college of Optometry where he received an additional bachelors degree and his Doctor of Optometry degree with clinical honors. He interned at the Philadelphia Naval hospital, Lakenau hospital and Wilmington Omni eye services. He then completed his residency at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia.

Dr. Pearlman has been practicing in the northern Virginia area since 1992. He has specialized in comprehensive family eyecare and the medical management of eye disease. He has extensive experience in contact lens and pre- and post- operative ophthalmic surgical care including the latest laser refractive procedures. Dr. Pearlman has lectured and been published on a wide variety of ocular topics and has enjoyed a role as clinical instructor for residents affiliated with the State University of New York’s College of Optometry.

He currently is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association and the Northern Virginia Optometric Society. He has completed licensing requirements and received certification to practice from the boards of optometry in the commonwealth of Virginia and Pennsylvania and the state of Maryland.

Nicole Teser, O.D.

Dr. Teser graduated from Salisbury University on the eastern shore of Maryland with summa cum laude honors and a bachelor degree in chemistry. She completed her postgraduate education at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia where she earned an additional Bachelor of Science and her Doctor of Optometry degree. She has interned throughout the east coast including Philadelphia, Fort Lauderdale, and northern Maryland. She completed an additional residency in the treatment and management of ocular disease in Havre de Grace, Maryland, affiliated with the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She has also served as a clinical investigator in studies for dry eye and corneal disease.

She provides comprehensive eye care including contact lens fittings and management of ocular disease. She participates in pre and post operative refractive surgery care and provides follow up for patients having undergone cataract surgery.

She has completed the licensing requirements and received certification to practice optometry in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the state of Maryland. She is currently an active member of the American Optometric Association.

Houriya Mahboobi, O.D.

Dr. Mahboobi graduated Dean’s list from University of Virginia with a baccalaureate degree in Middle Eastern Studies and Religion.  She completed her postgraduate education and received her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania college of Optometry in Philadelphia with clinical and academic honours. She interned at the Salem VA medical hospital, See clearly vision, and Capital Eye consultants all of which were in Virginia.  She then received her residency in the diagnosis, treatment and management of ocular disease at the Salem VA medical hospital.

Dr. Mahboobi specializes in comprehensive eye care and management of ocular disease. She offers contact lens fittings, and participates in pre and post-operative refractive surgery, and cataract surgery.

She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, the Northern Virginia Optometric Association and Beta Sigma kappa (International Optometric Honour Student).  She has completed licensing requirements and received certification to practice optometry in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Chanpreet Kataria, O.D.

Originally from Long Island, New York, Dr. Kataria graduated cum laude from CUNY Brooklyn College with a double major in biology and psychology.

 

She then pursued her postgraduate education at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with clinical honors.

She interned at Keller Memorial hospital at West Point Military Academy, Northport VA hospital, Brooklyn/St.Albans VA hospital, The Eye Institute, and EyeRx. 

 

From there she returned to Northport VA hospital on Long Island, where she completed an ocular disease, low vision and vision therapy residency. 

 

Dr. Kataria has lectured and been published on topics such as dry eye and thyroid eye disease. She is a current member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association, and Northern Virginia Optometric Association. 

 

She provides comprehensive eye care, contact lens fittings, ocular disease management and pre and post operative refractive and cataract surgery care.

Alvin Siv, O.D.

Born and raised in Fairfax County, Dr. Siv considers himself to be a long time Northern Virginia native. He graduated from Virginia Tech where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. From there, he went on to earn his Doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia, PA. There he completed clinical externships in primary eye care, management of ocular disease, and pediatric eye care. 

He strives to serve the community by providing comprehensive and compassionate eye care to all his patients; including management of ocular disease, contact lens fittings, and pre and post-operative surgical care. Dr. Siv is a member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association, and Northern Virginia Optometric Society.

When not working, Dr. Siv enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children. He is also an avid guitar player and photographer.
