Russell Pearlman, O.D., is an optometrist who has practiced in Northern Virginia since 1992, focusing on comprehensive family eye care, the medical management of eye disease, and contact lenses. He earned his Doctor of Optometry with clinical honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and completed a residency at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia. Dr. Pearlman graduated summa cum laude from Widener University with a bachelor's degree in biology, then continued at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where he earned an additional bachelor's degree and his Doctor of Optometry with clinical honors. His clinical training included internships at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital, Lankenau Hospital, and Wilmington Omni Eye Services, building broad exposure to hospital-based and primary eye care. Dr. Pearlman provides comprehensive family eye care and the medical management of eye disease, with extensive experience in contact lens fitting and in the pre- and post-operative care of patients undergoing laser refractive and other ophthalmic surgical procedures. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, and the Northern Virginia Optometric Society. His approach centers on building lasting relationships and helping each patient understand their eyes and their options, not just their prescription.
