Houriya Mahboobi, O.D., is an optometrist providing comprehensive eye care with a focus on the management of ocular disease. She earned her Doctor of Optometry with clinical and academic honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and completed a residency in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular disease at the Salem VA Medical Center. Dr. Mahboobi sees patients at The Eye Center's Manassas and Sterling offices and offers contact lens fittings, including for more complex prescriptions.

Dr. Mahboobi began her education at the University of Virginia, where she graduated Dean's list with a baccalaureate degree in Middle Eastern Studies and Religion. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree, with clinical and academic honors, from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. Her clinical training included internships at the Salem VA Medical Center, See Clearly Vision, and Capital Eye Consultants, all in Virginia, followed by a residency in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular disease at the Salem VA Medical Center.

Dr. Mahboobi provides comprehensive eye care with a particular focus on the management of ocular disease, seeing patients for routine and primary eye care as well as eye emergencies. She offers contact lens fittings, including fittings for more complex prescriptions, and participates in the pre- and post-operative care of patients undergoing cataract and refractive surgery, coordinating each stage of treatment. She is licensed to practice optometry in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, the Northern Virginia Optometric Association, and Beta Sigma Kappa, the international optometric honor society. Her approach centers on listening closely and explaining each finding clearly, so that patients understand their eye health and feel confident in their care.
